Dentures at Yi Dentistry

Missing teeth change how you eat, how you speak and often how willing you are to smile. Dentures remain one of the most practical ways to replace several teeth or a full arch, and modern materials look far more natural than the dentures most people picture. We make and fit both full and partial dentures at our Edinburg and Donna offices.

All-on-4 Implants

Full Dentures

"A denture should let you eat and speak without thinking about it."

A full denture replaces all the teeth in the upper or lower jaw. It rests on the gum and is made to match your facial proportions, so it supports your lips and cheeks as well as restoring your bite.

Endosteal Implants

Partial Dentures

A partial denture fills the gaps when you still have healthy natural teeth. It clips discreetly to those teeth and stops the remaining ones drifting into the space, which is what causes further problems later.

Are Dentures Right for Me?

Dentures suit some situations better than others. In a consultation we will tell you plainly whether a denture, a bridge or an implant makes more sense for you. Dentures are usually a good fit if:

How We Fit Your Dentures

Getting a denture right takes more than one visit, and anyone promising otherwise is cutting corners. We take impressions, try the denture in before it is finished, and adjust the fit until you can eat comfortably.

Our Step-by-Step

Denture Treatment Process

A denture that fits properly is the difference between wearing it and leaving it in a drawer. These are the stages we work through with you.

Dental implant surgery
Assessment and Impressions

We examine the remaining teeth and gums, take impressions and discuss the shade and shape you want. If teeth need removing first, we plan the healing time into the schedule.

Dental abutements
Try-In and Adjustment

You try the denture in wax before it is finalised. This is where we adjust the bite, the fit and the appearance, and it is much easier to change at this stage than after.

Final Fitting

The finished denture is fitted and checked while you bite, speak and move your jaw. Small adjustments on the day are normal and expected.

Aftercare and Relines

Gums change shape over the years, so dentures need relining periodically to keep fitting well. We show you how to clean and store them, and we would rather adjust a denture early than have you struggle with it.

Denture FAQs at Yi Dentistry

The questions patients most often ask before committing to dentures. If yours is not here, call the office and ask us directly.

How much do dentures cost?

Cost depends on whether you need a partial or full denture, the materials used, and whether extractions are needed first. We quote you before any work begins. We accept most insurances including CHIP and Medicaid, and offer financing through CareCredit, Wisetack and Cherry.

How long does it take to get dentures?

Usually several appointments over a few weeks, because the denture is tried in and adjusted before it is finalised. If teeth need extracting first, gums are left to heal before the final denture is made, though an immediate denture can be fitted in the meantime so you are never without teeth.

Will dentures change how I speak?

For the first week or two most people notice their speech while they adapt, and reading aloud at home speeds this up considerably. If particular sounds are still difficult after that, come back in and we will adjust the fit.

Should I get dentures or implants?

Dentures cost less upfront and can be made more quickly. Implants cost more but are fixed in place, do not move when you eat, and help preserve the jawbone. An implant-supported denture sits between the two. We will go through the trade-offs for your situation rather than pushing one option.

How do I look after my dentures?

Clean them daily over a bowl of water so they do not break if dropped, soak them overnight as directed, and keep seeing us regularly. Gums change shape over time, so a denture that fitted well a few years ago may need relining.
